Understanding our Transcendental Nature --
The Higher Self
Where I End and God Begins Edited
2-6-2005
Under typical life circumstances,
the experience of a Higher Self is a gradual and ascending one
which evolves with maturity and harmonious being. We may enjoy
miraculous experience which we attribute to this part of our
own nature. On occasion, extreme circumstance shall cause one
to experience the Higher Self in unusual and metaphysical ways
which may have a resemblance to the miraculous.
Our experience of the Higher Self
may be heart-born, mind-born or mysterious to our
understanding. The same ways in which we experience what we
know as God are the same ways in which we experience our
Transcendental Nature. We
begin, at birth, with an embodiment of a perfect nature. We are
then challenged by the world which leaves us to regain our "True
Spiritual Nature" (i.e. Fitrah). In pursuit of this, we
come to understand the Higher Self or our Transcendental Nature.
Our ability to perceive and realize our Transcendental Nature is
dependent upon the particular
paradigms
of understandings we hold to. A
belief
system which embraces the idea that we are born "evil",
leaves the believer to create what he/she is told he/she was not
born with and it results in confusion. On the other hand, a
belief system which embraces the idea that we are born "good",
tells us the Fitrah exists within us already and only needs to
be rediscovered. In our vision we see Our Creator having placed
within us a natural form of guidance or a means of access to
guidance. When we believe in our inherent goodness, we have
ready access to our own healing and restoration.
