What is Organic Beekeeping?

Organic Beekeeping methods include treatments using natural materials, honeybee nutritional supplements and a system of specialized beekeeping practices which promotes strong honeybee colonies. Everything used in Organic Beekeeping may be eaten and/or handled safely by both honeybee and bee keeper.We have no need of poisons or pesticides.

Declaration of Beliefs Whatever our individual religious foundations, we are united by our devotion to prudent and wholesome ways to return balance to our relationship with Our Earth. As Organic Beekeepers and Honeybee Stewards we each choose Organic Beekeeping methods as a matter of belief and conscience.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF A CHANGE TO A NEW SERVER. NORMALLY, THIS TRANSITION CAN BE DONE VERY SMOOTHLY. IN THIS CASE, OUR FILES ARE VERY OLD ONES ... SOME ARE MISSING AND OTHERS NEED SOME UPGRADING TO WORK PROPERLY ON A NEWER SERVER. THEREFORE, SOME FORMS MAY NOT WORK ETC. THIS SHOULD ALL BE REMEDIED AFTER THANKSGIVING.

OBS and The Organic Beekeeping Journal will be back with new newsletters etc. after the first of the year. For 2008, we will cover beehouses, greenhouse beekeeping and many other innovative & sustainable approaches to our beekeeping challenges.

Classes will only be offered again when it can be done in a web-conferencing classroom environment. This is not yet setup, but currently being researched.

To expose our bees to poisons/pesticides would serve to weaken their immune systems and make them more susceptible to disease. Therefore, we do not promote the use of any substance which is harmful if handled or eaten by honeybee or bee keeper. When providing remedies to disease in a honeybee colony, the substances are natural, wholesome and healthful.

"Let your medicine be your food and your food be your medicine."

Our choices of nutritional supplements for our bees must include those foods which are high in proteins and trace minerals. Whatever weaknesses our honeybees display are to be treated as being the result of nutritional deficiencies and/or toxic burden.

The natural laws which apply to humans, are applicable to other creatures (and plants). Our Organic Beekeeping methods of delivering medicinal elements also offers nutritional values for our bees.
